This is the perfect sized bag for people who don’t need to fill a backpack with items, but still want to bring a fair amount with them when they go out. It is meant to be worn as a crossbody purse, which means that you don’t have to worry about it falling off your shoulder when wearing it and you don’t have to hold on to it. QUALITY OF THE MICKEY AND MINNIE MOUSE PAISLEY HIPSTER PURSE
If you are like me, then you want the items that you spend money on to last. Vera Bradley is a company known for having high-quality products, and this is no exception. Examples of quality include that the stitching is well done, the zippers don’t get stuck, and this is made to last for years of use.
DESIGN AND COLOR
If you are at all familiar with Vera Bradley’s bags, then you know that they include paisley in just about all their items. This is no exception. The exterior design is very colorful, has paisley prints, flowers, Cinderella’s castle, Mickey Mouse, and Minnie Mouse.
This is a busy pattern that might turn off some people. But, it is also admittedly fun to look at. The more you look at it, the more you are likely to see. There are even Hidden Mickey’s, something that Disney has all throughout their theme parks. Do you see any? If not, don’t worry, a little later in this review I will tell you where they are.

The colors on this bag are vibrant and plentiful. Usually, I list all the colors, but there are so many on this one that it’s easier to simply say that there are a lot.
TEXTURE
When you touch this bag you will feel that it is soft, but you will also feel a slight bumpiness, which is the result of the quilting on the fabric.
MATERIAL
The material for this bag is made from cotton. You can see from the picture above that there is stitching over the entire purse, and that is the quilted aspect of it. The material is soft, which is typical of cotton.
Cotton may be more likely to get dirtier than man-made materials, but the good news is that this hipster bag is washable.
Because this is made of cotton, it is lighter than a comparable leather or faux leather bag, which means it won’t weigh you down.
STITCHING
As I’ve already said, this hipster bag is made from quilted cotton. That means that there is stitching over the entire exterior.
There is also stitching elsewhere on the bag, such as for zippers, pockets, and edges. It’s a little hard to see because of how busy the pattern is, but if you look closely you can see that there is stitching in the image below on the left side, near the middle. That is where the back pocket was sewn onto the back of the bag.
To the best of my knowledge, all of the thread used is black. With all that stitching there is always the possibility that a thread will come loose, but Vera Bradley is known for their quality products and this is unlikely to happen. I have several Vera Bradley items and have never had a problem with any of them.
HANDLES / STRAPS
There is a single shoulder strap that measures 27″. It is adjustable, so you can make it short enough to be worn over a single shoulder, or extend it to wear it as a crossbody purse. The strap is a little difficult to adjust, but not as difficult as some of my bags, and fits most sizes.
EXTERNAL POCKETS
If you like pockets, then you will love this purse because there are pockets galore!
The front has two pockets, both of which zip closed. You can keep keys, lip balm, sunglasses, a cell phone, or even a book or eReader inside these front pockets.
There is also a pocket on the back. Unlike the two front pockets, this one is a slip pocket, meaning it doesn’t zip closed so you can slip things in and out of it. It’s also smaller than the front pockets. It’s the perfect size for a cell phone, which is what I keep in this pocket when I use my Vera Bradley bag.
ZIPPERS
All of the zippers use silver-toned metal hardware, and are easy to open and close. Each zipper has a small piece of fabric attached that is used as zip pulls.
DECORATIVE ITEMS
There are no decorative items on this bag. Honestly, I think that’s a good thing because this pattern is so busy that anything more would be too hard to see.
OPENING AND BOTTOM
The top zips open so that you can put items in and take them out.
Some purses have a sizable bottom but this is a slim bag so there isn’t much. The bottom looks exactly the same as the rest of the bag, but because it is thin, the bag can’t sit on it. If you try, it will fall on its side.
LINING AND INTERNAL POCKETS
The fabric that lines the inside has flowers and outlines of Cinderella’s castle. Do you remember above when I said there are Hidden Mickeys on the exterior design? Well, they are in the lining, as well. They are easier to see here and are found in the middle of each flower.
There is a pocket on both sides inside the bag, one zips shut and the other is a slip pocket. I love pockets and this bag has so many of them that you can easily keep your contents organized inside and out.

DIMENSIONS AND SIZE
The dimensions for this bag are 11-1/2” H x 10-1/4” W x 1-1/2” D.
There is room in this bag for the matching wristlet / wallet, a cell phone, snacks, hand sanitizer, keys, makeup, medicine, a water bottle, tablet or eReader, sunglasses, and other similar-sized items.
CAN THIS FIT IN A THEME PARK LOCKER?
If you never plan on going to a theme park with this bag then you can ignore this. However, fandom bags are very popular at places like Disney and Universal Studios. If you even plan on going to a theme park with your bag then you probably want to make sure that it will fit inside their lockers.
This hipster crossbody bag is relatively thin and will definitely fit inside just about any major theme park locker.

This, to me, is the perfect purse for daily use, but it’s also large enough to use for a trip to any of the Disney theme parks. It has plenty of pockets, and the size is tall enough to carry things like a water bottle inside. The design is colorful and fun, yet surprisingly subtle with things like Hidden Mickeys.
Imagine walking around the Magic Kingdom with this purse on your hip. Not only will you be fashionable, but you will have Mickey and Minnie Mouse with you, you’ll have the items that you need for a day at the park, and it won’t weigh you down.
