QUALITY OF THE JACK SKELLINGTON MINI BACKPACK
Loungefly is a company that is known for selling quality products, and because of this, they have a loyal following of customers. This bag is no exception. It is well made and meant to be used, not just looked at.
DESIGN AND COLOR
The design is unusual for a Loungefly mini backpack. Most are rectangular in shape with an arched top, but this one, although rectangular, extends out on the sides just under the middle.
As for color, it is all black with silver-toned accents. The front flap on the bag has several decorative elements that add to the design elements. There are pinstripe lines across the entire flap, going from top to bottom, and is appealing visually. There is also a round metal piece of Jack’s face, with metal studs on either side.
You can access the contents inside the bag by lifting up the flap. There is a magnet that keeps the flap in place.
As you can see, there are also zippers on either side. When unzipped, the front of the bag extends to make it easier to get in and out of the bag.
This is what the sides look like. Unlike most Loungefly mini backpacks, there are no side pockets. It is nothing but smooth.
MATERIAL, TEXTURE, AND STITCHING
This convertible mini backpack is made of all man-made materials. Faux leather is a favorite material for a lot of people because no animals are harmed to make it.
The texture is meant to look like real leather so it is very grainy. You can feel the grains when running your fingers over it, but it is also a relatively smooth feeling.
The stitching on the Nightmare Before Christmas backpack is very sturdy. Black thread was used for the stitching so it blends in very well with the rest of the bag.
HANDLES / STRAPS
The straps are a bit different than on a typical Loungefly mini backpack. Normally the straps are stitched on and meant to stay in place, but not with this. This is what’s called a convertible bag because it can be worn as either a backpack or as a crossbody. It is the straps that determine how you wear it.
There are three rings on the back, as you can see below. When you connect the straps to those three rings then you can use it as a backpack.
Or, you can instead connect one strap and connect it to the two rings on either side at the top of the opening. Doing so will allow users to wear it as a crossbody purse.
EXTERNAL POCKETS
Most Loungefly backpacks have at least one pocket on the outside, either on the front or on the sides. But this bag has no external pockets of any kind.
ZIPPERS AND DECORATIVE ITEMS
Most bags have zippers to open and close pockets but the two zippers on the exterior sides of this mini backpack have a different purpose. These zippers give the bag a larger opening when unzipped.
The zippers and pulls are all made of silver-toned metal.
There are a couple of decorative items. On the front is an applique of Jack’s round head, and there is a single stud on either side. There are also studs on each side of the bag.
OPENING AND BOTTOM
You can access the inside of the bag by opening the flap and loosening the drawstrings. After you have done that, then you can look or reach inside.
The bottom of the purse is black and made of the same material as the rest of the bag. It is flat so you can set it down and it will stand upright.
LINING AND INTERNAL POCKETS
Jack Skellington is a character made of bones and wears black, so it does not surprise me that the colors of the lining match his appearance. It has pinstripe white lines on a black background.
If you’ve read any of my other reviews then you probably already know that I love pockets because of how helpful they are at keeping a purse’s contents organized. I am happy to say that there are two that you will see when you look inside.
The pocket on the back has a zipper. This is a good place for a small wallet, keys, or similar-sized items. The one on the front is a slip pocket for easy access to things like tissues or hand sanitizer.
DIMENSIONS AND SIZE
The dimensions for this bag are 9″ H x 10″ W x 4.5″ D.
This is the size of a typical mini backpack. It’s large enough to fit things like a water bottle, wallet, cell phone, snacks, book, or telescoping umbrella, but not so large that it’s uncomfortable.
CAN THIS BAG FIT IN A THEME PARK LOCKER?
If you never plan on going to a theme park with this bag then you can ignore this. However, fandom bags are very popular at places like Disney and Universal Studios. If you even plan on going to a theme park with your bag then you probably want to make sure that it will fit inside their lockers.
This bag is perfectly sized for going into a locker, including the smaller free ones at places like Disney or Universal Studios.
CARING FOR THE LOUNGEFLY JACK SKELLINGTON MINI BACKPACK
Bags always start out clean but life happens and sometimes so do stains. If that happens then the information below will help you make it look new again.
Loungefly products that are made from man-made materials and look like faux leather are easy to keep clean. All you need to do is wipe down the outside with a clean, soft, damp rag that has been wetted with soapy water. Use a small amount of a mild detergent like Dawn or liquid soap. Clean any stains, then wipe down the exterior of the bag with a dry, clean cloth. Or, you can also use alcohol-free baby wipes to clean the bag, which is even easier.
