QUALITY OF THE ALADDIN SEQUIN MINI BACKPACK
Loungefly is a company known for making unique fandom purses and mini backpacks, and they are also known for the quality of their products. This is no exception and has been made for daily use, not just to be worn once and then put away or to be nothing more than a shelf decoration.
DESIGN AND COLOR
This mini backpack was inspired by the Disney movie Aladdin and has a picture of him, Jasmine, and her pet tiger, Raja, on the front pocket. The top and part of the side of the bag are covered in iridescent blue sequins that captures the coloring of the design perfectly.
The color scheme is blue and sea foam green, which is an interesting choice given that the story takes place in the desert. I think they opted to match Jasmine’s clothes and headband because the bag accents what she’s wearing perfectly.
The back of the bag is the same smooth texture as the front pocket so you don’t have to worry about any sequins irritating your skin as you wear it.
MATERIAL, TEXTURE, AND STITCHING
All materials used are man-made but they vary in texture. The main material is soft and smooth to the touch. The front and sides also have sequins on them, which are going to have a rough feel to them.
The stitching uses thread colors that match the material being sewn. This means that the stitching isn’t noticeable unless you are specifically looking for it. The thread is thick so the bag will be able to stand up to repeated use.
HANDLES / STRAPS
There is a small handle on top of the bag that is in the shape of a loop. You can use this handle to quickly pick up the backpack or hang it on a hook. You can also use it to display the bag in your home on a wall.
The back has padded straps that are the same color blue as the back. The padding makes it comfortable to wear without digging into your shoulders.
The bottom portion of the straps are made of nylon, similar to a car’s seatbelt material, and can be adjusted. The straps extend quite a bit to accommodate most body sizes. They are easy to adjust, unlike straps made completely from the padded material (I have one Loungefly mini backpack with totally padded straps and hate having to adjust them).
EXTERNAL POCKETS
The front pocket is about one inch deep so you’ve got plenty of room inside for small items. It is the perfect size for things like car keys, lip balm, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, and/or glasses. As you can see from the picture, the lining inside the pocket has the same fabric that’s inside the bag.
There are two slip pockets, one on each side. These give you even more organizational options. They aren’t quite big enough for a water bottle but there are plenty of other things you can put in here.

ZIPPERS AND DECORATIVE ITEMS
The zippers are all made of silver-toned hardware and each zip pull says Loungefly on it. There are two zip pulls that open and close the main part of the bag, and I love it when there are two. When there is just one zip pull then you are forced to close it on just one side, whichever side it closes on. But when there are two, then you get to decide where it closes. You can choose the left side, right side, or the top.
Sometimes Loungefly includes additional decorative items such as a charm hanging from a zip pull, but this bag doesn’t have anything like that. Jasmine has her pet so I think it would have been cute to include a charm of Aladdin’s monkey friend, Abu. This was a missed opportunity in my opinion.
OPENING AND BOTTOM
When you look at the picture below you can see that the opening to the main compartment of the mini backpack is close to the front. I prefer this positioning of the opening because it allows you to pull the front open and gives you easy access to the inside.
The bottom is the same color blue as the back and front pocket. The material is also the same, smooth. I appreciate that they did not sequins on the bottom because if there were, I’d be worried about them coming off. The bottom is likely to get dirtier than the rest of the bag and the smooth material will be much easier to clean without the sequins.
LINING AND INTERNAL POCKETS
The lining is fabric with a repeating design. The design includes headshots of Jasmine hugging Raja inside a heart, and double hearts with headshots of Jasmine and Aladdin. The colors are various hues of blue and match the exterior of the bag.
I love when bags add extra pockets because it gives you more ways to keep your items organizes. The inside has a zip pocket on the back and is deep enough for a small wallet, medicine, car keys, or other similarly sized items.
DIMENSIONS AND SIZE
The dimensions for this bag are 10.5″ H x 9″ W x 4.5″ D.
The slip pockets on the exterior sides might not be big enough to hold a bottle of water but the inside certainly is. You can also add a large wallet, sun screen, snacks, a book, cell phone, and even a scarf with gloves if the weather is expected to be cold.
CAN THIS BAG FIT IN A THEME PARK LOCKER?
If you never plan on going to a theme park with this bag then you can ignore this. However, fandom bags are very popular at places like Disney and Universal Studios. If you even plan on going to a theme park with your bag then you probably want to make sure that it will fit inside their lockers.
Fortunately, this is the perfect size for being kept safe in a theme park locker, including the free ones found at most parks. You can bring this with you if you visit one of the Disney parks and not have to worry that it won’t fit.
CARING FOR THE LOUNGEGLY SEQUIN ALADDIN MINI BACKPACK
Bags always start out clean but life happens and sometimes so do stains. If that happens then the information below will help you make it look new again.
Loungefly products that are made from man-made materials and look like faux leather are easy to keep clean. All you need to do is wipe down the outside with a clean, soft, damp rag that has been wetted with soapy water. Use a small amount of a mild detergent like Dawn or liquid soap. Clean any stains, then wipe down the exterior of the bag with a dry, clean cloth. Or, you can also use alcohol-free baby wipes to clean the bag, which is even easier.
