Every day will be showtime when you wear this Loungefly Beetlejuice Chibi All Over Print BTJBK0006 mini backpack! Just take care that you don’t say Betelgeuse’s name three times or you are likely to get more than you bargained for.
This is likely to be popular during the Halloween season, but it’s not limited to being used just a few times a year. Fans of Tim Burton’s classic film would love to have this purse.
The size of this mini backpack is just right for being used on a daily basis, has enough room for commonly used items such as a wallet, car keys, snacks, a water bottle, and other such items. It will keep your things organized while showing off a fun design.
I am fairly certain that you won’t find any sandworms or ghosts inside, but I make no promises. What I do promise is to do the best review that I can possibly do for this bag.
Are you considering getting this for yourself or for someone who is a fan of Beetlejuice? Then read on for specific details about this bag, including pictures to help you see every aspect of it.

QUALITY OF THE BEETLEJUICE CHIBI MINI BACKPACK
I’m willing to bet that when you buy a purse, you do so because you want to use it, not just because you like the way it looks. Loungefly products are known for being well-made and this one is, too. It’s pretty to look at it but also meant to be used.
DESIGN AND COLOR
The design on this mini backpack is called an All Over Print, which means that the print is repeated over the entire bag. That also means that no two bags look alike, which is something that I wrote about here. It is covered with Chibi characters from the movie, including variations on Beetlejuice, Lydia Deetz, and Adam and Barbara Maitland.
For those of you who don’t know, Chibi is defined by the Urban Dictionary as, “Smaller form of any existing character, meant to look cute. Usually has irregular proportions, with a big head and tiny limbs.” The characters on this backpack definitely fit that description.
The characters are on a background of black and white stripes, which is meant to represent the clothes worn by the Ghost with the Most.
The main colors seen on this are black, white, green, and red. There are a few others, but they are subtle or accent colors, such as the pink on Barbara’s dress or the beige of her skin.
TEXTURE
As you can see in the picture below, the texture for this Beetlejuice mini backpack is grainy, like you would see on leather. It feels sort of smooth but also sort of pebbly.
MATERIAL
This is made from all man-made materials, inside and out. That means that no animals were harmed in the making of this product.
As is typical with Loungefly mini backpacks, the stitching is very solid and meant to last.
HANDLES / STRAPS
Do you see the loop sticking out from the top of the backpack? That is a small handle on the top of the back that is great for quickly picking it up. It is also perfect for hanging the bag when it’s not being used.
There are also two shoulder straps for use when wearing this as a backpack. The straps are padded for comfort on the top, and the lower portion is made from nylon. The straps are adjustable and the metal hardware to do this is found on the lower part. The benefit to this is that it is a much easier material to adjust than the padded part.
EXTERNAL POCKETS
Pockets are a wonderful way to help keep your things organized and I love when purses have at least one. This mini backpack has a total of three pockets on the outside. The main pocket is on the front and is about one inch in depth. This gives you room for things like sunglasses, hand sanitizer, keys, lip balm, and tissues.
Each side has a small slip pocket, each of which is great for masks, cash, and hand sanitizer.
Unsure what to put inside the small pockets? Here are a few ideas for you.
ZIPPERS
The zippers are all made of silver-toned metal hardware. The opening to the Beetlejuice Chibi mini backpack has two zippers. Each zip pull has Loungefly written on it.
Two zippers are my preference when it comes to a bag’s opening. When there are two then you have the option of where they come together to close. Left, right, or middle, the choice is yours.
DECORATIVE ITEMS
Loungefly commonly adds some kind of decorative item on their products, such as a zip pull charm, but this doesn’t have anything. I’m wondering what they could have added and the idea that pops into my mind is a zip pull charm made in the shape of a sand worm. Ah, to what could have been…
OPENING AND BOTTOM
The opening of this fandom bag is towards the front, which I prefer. I find that this kind of opening makes getting items in and out of it easy. It also keeps things in place that are tall because you can put them in the back without them moving much when the bag is opened.
You can also bend the front of the bag forward when this is unzipped to easily look at what’s inside.
The bottom has the same all-over print of the Chibi characters and has black piping along the edges.
LINING AND INTERNAL POCKETS
I love the lining! It is fabric covered with green and grey stripes, and it has spots that look suspiciously like mold. I can’t help but be reminded of the lining of a coffin, which is probably what we are supposed to think of.
If you’ve read any of my other reviews then you know that I love pockets. I am happy to say that the Beetlejuice bag has a pocket on the inside. Even better, it zips closed, which means that whatever you put inside will stay in place if you happen to casually toss your bag into your car and it falls off the seat and lands upside down. Not that I’ve ever done that… (Yes, yes I have!)
This pocket is a good size for small wallets, keys, receipts, and pens.
DIMENSIONS AND SIZE
The dimensions for this bag are 10 1/2″ H x 9″ W x 4 1/2″ D.
Mini backpacks are a great alternative to purses in part because of their sizes. This bag is a nice size for anyone who wants to carry a fair amount of items but doesn’t need a full-sized backpack. It can fit most eReaders, just about any sized wallet, a cell phone, a bottle of water, an umbrella that telescopes closed, and a book. But I’m pretty sure that the Handbook for the Recently Deceased will be just a wee bit too big for this so I don’t recommend trying to stuff that one inside.
CAN THIS BAG FIT IN A THEME PARK LOCKER?
If you never plan on going to a theme park with this bag then you can ignore this. However, fandom bags are very popular at places like Disney and Universal Studios. If you even plan on going to a theme park with your bag then you probably want to make sure that it will fit inside their lockers.
I am happy to say that this mini backpack will fit in just about any theme park locker, including the free lockers at Universal Studios.
WALLET THAT MATCHES THIS BAG
There is a wallet that matches the Beetlejuice Chibi mini backpack. It has the same characters and stripes on it and is all green on the inside, the same green as the zipper material.
The best place to find the matching wallet is on Amazon or eBay.
CARING FOR THE BEETLEJUICE CHIBI MINI BACKPACK
Bags always start out clean but life happens and sometimes so do stains. If that happens then the information below will help you make it look new again.
Loungefly products that are made from man-made materials and look like faux leather are easy to keep clean. All you need to do is wipe down the outside with a clean, soft, damp rag that has been wetted with soapy water. Use a small amount of a mild detergent like Dawn or liquid soap. Clean any stains, then wipe down the exterior of the bag with a dry, clean cloth. Or, you can also use alcohol-free baby wipes to clean the bag, which is even easier.
PROS
- The bag has a great design
- There are three external pockets
- The inside has another pocket
- The straps are easy to adjust
- There is a matching wallet
CONS
- No decorative item, such as a zipper pull charm
SUMMARY
Is your whole life a dark room? One big, dark room? Are you alone? Are you *utterly* alone? Is Lydia Deetz your soul sister?
Perhaps you are partial to hearing Harry Belafonte sing Day-O? Or you are not afraid of sheets?
If you relate to any of the above, then this is the bag for you. You can use it regularly or just for special events like a wedding between a teenage girl and an undead trickster ghost.
This is also a fantastic mini backpack to wear to theme parks like Universal Studios or Disney, by Beetlejuice fans of all ages. Just imagine meeting Beetlejuice, who roams through Universal Studios in Orlando, while wearing this mini backpack. I’m sure that his response would be amazing.
