This is a favorite movie of mine from my younger days. A friend and I worked in a movie theater when this film came out, so we had the opportunity to watch it multiple times. My favorite scene is when Ariel and Prince Eric are on a date in the rowboat, and the animals start singing, “Kiss The Girl.” Of course, Ursula’s evil eels upset the boat and prevented the kiss, but it would have happened if they hadn’t interrupted the romantic moment!

QUALITY OF THE ARIEL TATTOO ALL OVER PRINT
When I buy a fandom bag I do so with the intention of actually using it, not just looking at it. Since I want to use them, I expect that they will hold up over time. My experience with Loungefly mini backpacks has been positive. This particular bag is a well-made item and is meant to be worn, and the reviews that I read as I did my research confirm this.
DESIGN AND COLOR
The print on this bag is what Loungefly calls “tattoo” because the images resemble classic tattoo designs. It includes pictures of Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, the Sea Witch, and King Triton, and also had various design elements such as anchors and stars.
It is an all-over print, which means that the pattern repeats all over the backpack and no two items will look exactly the same.
The main color is cream and the images are colorful. All the characters are drawn in their traditional colors: Ariel has red hair with blue eyes and purple seashells for a top, Flounder is yellow and blue, Sebastian is red, the Sea Hag is purple with blue eye shadow, and the tridents are gold.
TEXTURE
The entire backpack has a leather grain texture. I have found that this kind of texture on Loungefly bags holds up well over time.
MATERIAL AND STITCHING
This is made from all-vegan, manmade materials, which means no animals were harmed to make it.
How a bag is made is important because the quality of the sewing will determine how well the bag stays together over time. The stitching is strong and sturdy, which is typical of Loungefly’s products.
HANDLES / STRAPS
There is a small handle on top in the back that is perfect for quickly grabbing and holding it or for hanging it to display.
The straps are made from two different materials. The top half that rests on your shoulders is padded and soft. The lower portion that can be adjusted is made from nylon. This is a good thing because the nylon can be easily adjusted.
EXTERNAL POCKETS
There are a total of three external pockets. The one in the front is the main one and zips shut. It is large enough for things like keys, smaller cell phones, and small wallets.

ZIPPERS
The opening to the body of this mini backpack has two zippers, which is my preference. When there are two zippers then the user can choose where the opening should be, whether it’s on the left, right, or the middle. In other words, you have options that you don’t have with a single zipper.
DECORATIVE ITEMS
There are no decorative items on this bag, such as a zipper pull charm.
OPENING AND BOTTOM
The opening to the interior of the tattoo Ariel mini backpack is set closer to the front of the bag than in the middle. This is my preferred kind of opening because it allows the front to easily open and lets you get to whatever is inside.
The bottom is all black like Ursula’s soul, which will nicely hide any dirt if the bottom gets smudges on it.
LINING AND INTERNAL POCKETS
The inside is lined with a material that has a grey and white striped pattern. Usually, the internal pattern has something to do with the bag’s theme but I’m not sure how stripes relate to The Little Mermaid. Regardless, it’s a nice, simplistic design.
There is one pocket on the inside that zips closed. I personally love having additional pockets so this is a big plus to me. You can keep smaller items inside the pocket to help keep your purse organized.
DIMENSIONS AND SIZE
This bag measures 10.5″ H x 9″ W x 4.5″ D.
This is the typical size of a mini backpack, which means it can hold things like cell phones, some books, an umbrella that telescopes shut, most water bottles, wallets, and so on.
CAN THIS FIT IN A THEME PARK LOCKER?
If you never plan on going to a theme park with this bag then you can ignore this. However, fandom bags are very popular at places like Disney and Universal Studios. If you even plan on going to a theme park with your bag then you probably want to make sure that it will fit inside their lockers.

CARING FOR THE ARIEL TATTOO MINI BACKPACK
Bags always start out clean but life happens and sometimes so do stains. If that happens then the information below will help you make it look new again.
Loungefly products that are made from man-made materials and look like faux leather are easy to keep clean. All you need to do is wipe down the outside with a clean, soft, damp rag that has been wetted with soapy water. Use a small amount of a mild detergent like Dawn or liquid soap. Clean any stains, then wipe down the exterior of the bag with a dry, clean cloth. Or, you can also use alcohol-free baby wipes to clean the bag, which is even easier.

SUMMARY
Normally I can find a few more ‘cons’ for a bag when I do a review so I was surprised to only have one for this item. Upon reflection, though, that isn’t a surprise because it’s a well-made mini backpack with a pretty design.
This is perfect for anyone who is a fan of Disney’s animated film adaptation of The Little Mermaid and can be worn for a day at Disneyland or Disney World, or simply for a quick trip to the grocery store.
