I'm Seeing Halloween Bags Everywhere I Go

It’s now October so it doesn’t surprise me at all that I’m starting to see Halloween themed mini backpacks and purses everywhere that I go. I’ve seen five in the past week alone, which is what I’m going to share in this post. So if you are a fan of not-so-spooky bags then keep reading!

Last week I visited Universal Studios to meet up with some friends who were visiting from out-of-town. I hadn’t seen them since early this year so I confess that I wasn’t actively looking for purses like I normally do when I go to a theme park, but that didn’t stop me from seeing them anyways.

The first bag that I saw was a Loungefly mini backpack with a picture of Stitch holding a carved pumpkin. He is on a beach with palm trees and (what I assume to be) his house in the background. The carved face looks a little shaky so I think that Stitch did it himself. Doesn’t he look proud?

The bag has one front pocket that zips and two side slip pockets.

Next I saw a bag that was based on one of my favorite movies, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Loungefly used the famous scene where Jack Skellington is standing on a hill’s curly edge, with a full moon rising behind him. As you can see, there is a pumpkin patch full of carved pumpkins looking up at Jack as he sings his lament, while tombstones cast shadows behind him.

This has the largest front pocket that I’ve seen on a mini backpack. It is also curved at the top, where the zipper is, which I haven’t seen before. It’s a nice design.

I took a quick stop inside one of the park’s stores where I saw these beauties. I’m not positive but I think they are made by Danielle Nicole, as these are typical of their purses. The middle one is the head of Frankenstein’s monster (often referred to simply as Frankenstein) and on either side are purses inspired by his bride. Fans of the classic Universal monster films will love these!

The sizes of these are on the small side so they are more decorative purses than functional. But as long as you don’t need to have too much with you then these are perfect for Halloween.

The last bag that I saw at the parks was a Loungefly Disney bag. It’s hard to tell if it’s Mickey or Minnie but the orange hair bow gives it away. This has an all-over print of candy in the shape of spooky creatures, ghosts, and skeleton heads. As an added bonus, the woman who owns this found a candy corn-shaped hand sanitizer holder. Well done!

The shoulder straps are padded which helps with the comfort of wearing the backpack. There are three pockets on the outside, including one that zippers shut. It sticks out about one inch so it can hold a nice amount of smaller items.

After visiting Universal Studios I went with my friends to a local restaurant that was doing trivia night. We had a wonderful time and we were in first place up until the final question, when we bet too many and slipped to second. FYI, none of the groups got the final question so at least we didn’t feel bad about not knowing it.

While there I saw a woman sitting at the bar with a Mickey Mouse pumpkin mini backpack. I asked her if it glows in the dark and she said no. Hers was from 2019 and it was the model from 2020 (she thinks) that glows. Either way, I love it!

It’s nothing more than a giant Mickey head in the shape and color of a carved jack-o-lantern. The ears look like tiny gourds. Did you notice how his smile looks like an upside-down bat? The fangs, of course, help give it this appearance to me. Maybe this is a vampire Mickey pumpkin?

I like that the shoulder straps are black. Not only is it great Halloween color to pair up with the orange of the pumpkin but it also makes the straps blend in with clothes if worn with a dark shirt, as you see here.
