I’m a huge fan of The Boy Who Lived so I enjoyed finding five Harry Potter tote bags for this post. What surprised me was the wonderful range of styles.
There is a nice variety in the bags available. Some are made of a canvas-like fabric, while others are made from man-made materials. The different materials allow for different kinds of designs. You’ll see that the man-made ones have all-over prints and the canvas have a single design.
Speaking of designs, variety reigns here, too. Of course, there is the obligatory crest for the wizarding school, but I also chose sacks that show the castle, a phrase well known among fans, and other iconic elements.
It’s hard to choose a favorite but for me, it’s a tie between the one with Hedwig and the first one of the castle. Looking at either of them makes me long for my Hogwarts letter.
There are many ways that you can use a tote bag. The most obvious, of course, is to wear it over your shoulder as an over-sized purse, but that’s not the only option. Here are a few more ideas that you might not have thought of:
- Use them for bagging up groceries instead of using paper or plastic
- Place shoes inside a tote when packing for a trip to keep your clothes and other belongings clean
- Place a gift inside a tote bag instead of wrapping it (a friend did this for me once and I still have the bag)
- Use stuffing inside canvas totes to turn them into pillows
